Support Team AFP at the British 10K London Run!

For the third year running Asian Foundation for Philanthropy (AFP)  have 12 dedicated runners who will be participating in The British 10K London Run on Sunday 10th July 2011! They will be raising funds to support a Maternal Health and Kitchen Gardening Project in India that is run by AFP partner organisation Ahmedabad Women’s Action Group (AWAG).

Aims:
• To generate practical steps that businesses and governments can take to engage Diasporas in the economic development of home countries, particularly through trade and investment.

The launch of the DVA/VSO commisioned report of Diaspora Connections : Engaging with Diaspora organisations at multiple geo-political levels took place on Wednesday 22nd of June at the DVA event to celebrate Year of the Volunteer, 2011.

This mapping exercise commissioned by the Diaspora Volunteering Alliance (DVA) and VSO UK, sought to identify strategic stakeholders at the international, regional, national, UK regional and local levels in order to influence their programmes, policies, and resource allocation
