The DVA would like to wish everyone a very happy International Volunteer Day 2011!
IVD offers the opportunity for volunteer organisations and individual volunteers to make visible their contributions at local, national and international level - to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.
On the 16th December 2011 we are running a Learning Event on Effective Governance. We all know that effective governance is key to the success of any voluntary organisation, but governance itself can be a minefield. This learning event is designed to provide participants with an overview of good practice in governance. By having strong effective governance within our organisations we place ourselves in a strong position to successfully bid for funds from donor organisations.
Disability and Development Partners (DDP) invites you to the launch of their report on Deaf Children in Burundi - their Education and Communication Needs. DDP developed this project and research in collaboration with deaf people, school children, teachers and parents in Burundi and also with Aurora Deaf Aid Africa - a Diaspora group based in the UK.
