HIRDA is a non-profit organisation founded at The Hague in 1998 by members of the Somali Diaspora in the Netherlands. HIRDA works with other organisations to find lasting solutions to poverty and suffering in Somalia, particularly the South and Central regions.

Mission: 

The core of HIRDA’s mission is to improve the well-being of the needy people living in Somalia through the creation of equal educational opportunities for boys and girls and the promotion of gender equality and women empowerment.It aims to mobilise relief services for refugees and people in disaster areas and promote  income- generating activities and intercommunity social engagements in Somalia, as well as mobilising the Diaspora in the development of the region.
 

Activities: 

HIRDA seeks to involve youth in sport events, debates, exchanges, and fundraising events and to partner itself with other migrants and indigenous youth organisations.The organisation shares its capacities, knowledge and experience with other migrant organisations in order to develop a strong Diaspora network for migration and Somali development.
